NextGen Learning: Empowering Education – Integrating Erasmus+ and Innovation into School Life #1

What does it take to make a school future-ready?
The answer lies in combining global opportunities with innovative mindsets—and that’s exactly what NextGen Learning set out to explore. This Erasmus+ initiative brought together passionate educators to discover how European cooperation and innovative practices can be integrated meaningfully into school life.

A Vision for School Development

NextGen Learning isn’t just another Erasmus+ mobility. It’s a framework for empowering teachers, school leaders, and students to embrace change, think beyond the curriculum, and co-create learning environments that are responsive, inclusive, and future-oriented.

The first edition of this program focused on:

  • Understanding the Erasmus+ ecosystem and its role in whole-school development

  • Exploring innovation in education: digital tools, flexible learning spaces, and student-centred practices

  • Building the mindset and capacity to implement change at the local level

Real Tools for Real Impact

Throughout the training, participants worked hands-on with tools and strategies to bring innovation into everyday school life. From designing Erasmus+ project ideas aligned with school needs, to exploring adaptive learning platforms and collaborative teaching methods, the focus remained practical and directly applicable.

Participants also reflected on their own school contexts and created personalized action plans to support long-term integration of Erasmus+ and innovation into their institutions.

Collaborative Learning at its Core

One of the defining elements of NextGen Learning is its commitment to peer collaboration and sharing. Participants came from a variety of educational backgrounds, but shared a common goal: to rethink the role of schools in a changing world.

Each session sparked discussion, exchange of ideas, and new partnerships that will continue well beyond the program. The network formed during this training is already evolving into new Erasmus+ project teams and cross-school initiatives.

Looking Ahead

NextGen Learning is more than a training course—it’s the beginning of a shift in how schools approach growth, inclusion, and European cooperation. As the first edition wraps up, participating schools are already planning their next steps: implementing their action plans, involving students in Erasmus+ projects, and bringing innovation into the heart of learning.

Stay tuned for upcoming editions and for the publication of a practical guide developed from this experience.

NextGen Learning is where Erasmus+ meets innovation—right at the core of school life.
