At ICDET, we believe that learning doesn't only happen in classrooms. Sometimes, it starts with a game.
As part of his volunteering journey in GENiUS 3.0, Erdal, a student of IT Management from Tรผrkiye, has taken the initiative to design and implement a workshop on Game-Based Learning. ๐
Using the popular collaborative game Codenames, participants explored how games can develop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, active listening, critical thinking, language development, and intercultural understanding. Through simple gameplay, volunteers discovered how educational games can break down barriers, encourage participation, and create inclusive learning environments.
The workshop is also connected to the wider mission of GENiUS – Co-Creating the Inclusive School of the Future, where volunteers are researching and testing innovative methods that make learning more engaging, accessible, and human-centered for all students.
Beyond the workshop itself, Erdal is exploring how digital technologies, educational innovation, and game design can be combined to support inclusion and learning in schools. His work demonstrates how young people can transform their academic knowledge into practical solutions with real educational impact.
A huge congratulations to Erdal for taking the lead and sharing his passion for learning through play! ๐
Because sometimes the best way to learn is not to study harder — it's to play smarter. ๐ฒ✨
